Welcome to Memorial United Church, a congregation of the United Church of Canada. We are located at 13 Church Road in Grand Falls-Windsor, and, as a congregation of over 475 families, have served our town for over 100 years. Our Centennial was celebrated in 2006.
Our Worship
The congregation meets every Sunday morning at 11:00 o'clock for morning worship. At each service several hymns (usually from Voices United) are sung, prayers are said and Scriptures read. Responsive Psalms are also a part of morning worship. Minute for Missions are read most Sundays. Music is usually provided by organ (sometimes piano) and the church choir provides anthems and leadership in the singing, with alternating Sundays featuring the Men's Choir. Some Sundays a soloist is featured especially throughout the summer months. Our guitar group (UC5) provides music from time to time. Sunday School at approximately 11:15 a.m. and nursery services are usually available every Sunday morning.
Services are held on Good Friday, and Sunday evenings during Advent and Christmas Eve. Remembrance Day and Anniversary Service is held around November 11. Confirmation classes are conducted several weeks before the confirmation service which is held on Palm Sunday. A Flower Service is held every summer at the Cemetery. Communion is served every three months. Baptisms are held on request, usually once a month.
Our present church complex was officially opened November 11, 1990. The main sanctuary has a seating capacity of approximately 700 people including the balcony area on each side and at one end. This modern facility is wheelchair accessible and has a Christian Education Centre attached which provides space for youth activities and Sunday School and meeting rooms. It is adjoined by modern kitchen facilities. A Vestry and choir room are located at the rear while the minister's office, church office and nursery are along the front.
Of particular interest is the sanctuary interior, which replicates that of the previous building, now demolished. Altar, organ, communion rail and stained glass windows were painstakingly disassembled from the previous building and re-assembled in the new building.
AE Services Ltd. was the Prime Consultant, Architect, Structural and Site Engineers.

Mission Statement
We believe God has called us, as a covenant people, to the basic concerns and principles on which the church is founded, and by which it shapes its life.We seek to have all people within our congregation, at whatever stage physically or intellectually, to come to know God as revealed in Jesus Christ, and strengthened by the Church's nurturing and guided by the Holy Spirit, to come to follow God's loving way of work and witness in the world. Through its heritage, nature, and in an unique and spiritual way, as stewards of God's vineyard, through the provision of our church complex, we shall hear the call, renew our understanding, and re-commit ourselves to the essentials of our faith, Christian development and social action. This is our mission and covenant for the future generations of this congregation.
