PAR

Early in 2006, the Pre-Authorized Remittance Campaign was introduced to our congregation by the Stewardship Committee, with many families and members opting for the program at the time. If you would like to have your offerings automatically deducted from your bank account or Visa/Mastercard monthly, you may obtain a "sign-up form" from the church office or contact Howard Barnes for more information. If you wish to make a change to your original commitment, you may also do so by filling out another PAR sign-up form and having the existing form cancelled.

Wall of Celebration

One result of the Centennial Committee in 2006 was the institution of our Wall of Celebration. Our Wall of Celebration in the vestibule of the church enables us to celebrate significant events in the lives of our loved ones. Remembering our deceased loved ones is the obvious tribute on our wall. But there are many other important events that could also be recognized that would truly add to the history of our church and would be remembered forever. For example: Graduation is a special time in the lives of our children and grandchildren. With so many young people leaving our community to pursue careers, remembering this special event on our Wall of Celebration is a wonderful lasting tribute to these young people who have grown up in the church. We have also witnessed many of our young people, who now live away, returning to their family church to have their children baptized. Celebrating this event on our Wall of Celebration would be a wonderful tribute to these new members of our United Church and we would have a lasting record of the family names who belong to this church. To order a plaque, fill out a form, found in the vestibule of the church and return it to the church office, or just drop by the office. Cost of a plaque is $50.00. Contact the church office for more information at 489-6151.

Radio Broadcasts

Memorial United Church has scheduled five Sunday Morning church services live on VOCM radio for 2008. These broadcasts provide a wonderful opportunity for those who are unable to attend church, to share in morning worship.

If you are interested in sponsoring a service or contributing towards the cost of a service in memory of loved ones, please contact the church office at 489-6151.

The cost of each broadcast is $230.00.

Hall Rentals

The Christian Education (CE) Centre, which is part of Memorial United's church complex, is available for rentals. The Centre has its own entrance and has kitchen facilities. Also, there are several rooms adjacent to the centre which could be used for smaller groups. A sound system could also be made available. Catering by the United Church Women and Men’s Choir is often available upon request as well. Check with the church office at 489-6151 for availability and prices.

Scent Sense

The United Church of Canada and the Newfoundland & Labrador Conference actively promote a scent-free environment in response to the growing number of people who suffer from allergies. There are people in our congregation who suffer from scent-related allergies. We ask for your understanding in this matter and thank you.
